A CORINTHIAN POTTERY PYXIS
5TH CENTURY B.C.
With carinated shoulder decorated with alternating palmette chain within zigzag, red and black lines above and below and around rim, the body with frieze of vertical black tongues, broad black and red band below, the vertical handles painted with alternating tongue motif, 7½ in. (19 cm.) diam.; a Late Corinthian pottery kotyle, belonging to the group (P) of the Queensland Floral Kotylai, with horizontal ring handles, the body decorated with double row of semicircles containing dotted circles and other motifs, dotted circles between the semicircles, repaired with one handle restored, circa 580-570 B.C, 2 9/16 in. (8.5 cm.) high; and a small Corinthian pottery plate with geometric decoration in black and red including concentric circles and bands, rays with dots and a central dotted cross motif, late 6th Century B.C., 4¼ in. (11.5 cm.) diam. (3)
