A Nepalese copper figure of Manjusri
13th century
Seated in vajrasana on the pericarp of a lotus, his right hand in varadamudra, the left originally holding stem of lotus which flowers along his shoulder and supports the manuscript, wearing dhoti, bejewelled and partly set with red glass beads, his face with serene expression, elongated earlobes with circular ear rings, three-leaf tiara set in front of the conical-shaped chignon, traces of gilding
