THE COVERS MARK OF MATTHEW BOULTON, BIRMINGHAM, CIRCA 1810
The two meat dishes shaped oval, the larger with shell handles, the border engraved with a coat of arms and crest, the smaller with reeded border and leaves at intervals, apparently unmarked; together with two domed covers in sizes, each with gadrooned border with shells at intervals, and leaf-clad ring finial, both engraved with the same armorials, both covers marked on reverse; and a chamberstick, of typical form with a gadroon border, and detachable wax-pan and snuffer, the handle engraved with a crest, marked under body
The large meat dish 24½ in. (62.2 cm.) long, the cover 18 7/8 in. (48 cm.) long, the chamberstick 7 in. (17.6 cm.) long over handle (5)
