A twelve-fold coromandel lacquer screen
18th Century
Carved through the dark brown lacquer ground and painted in a multitude of colous with phoenix, herons, peacocks, pheasants and smaller exotic birds and ducks among a luscious vegetation of flowering lotus, magnolia, plum blossom, peony, hydrangea, flanked to the sides with 'The Hundred Antiquities', the bottom and top bordered by panels of flowering fruit and plants between narrow bands of stylised lotus scroll, some damages and restoration
