BLANDY'S
John Blandy entered the island of Madeira in 1807 to help protect the island from Napoleonic invasions. Fortunately, the vine enchanted the young soldier to return in 1811 to found the quinta that still bears his name. The roots laid in 1807 have sustained five more generations of Madeira-making Blandys who continue to uphold the fine family tradition.
Bual--Vintage 1907

"Three notes in the late 1980s, a superb, mouthfilling wine, powerful yet refined. More recently, glowing amber; glorious bouquet and flavour, sweet tangy. Brought by some generous guest to a BYOB dinner at the Tribeca grill New York, Feb 1996 ****" MB, Vintage Wine
