Lot Essay

This letter was written during the first week of The Beatles seven-week gruelling run at The Star Club where according to Mark Lewisohn they ...were required to play for four hours one night and three the next, with a one-hour-on, one-hour-off rota.... In this letter McCartney refers to his eager anticipation for a day's holiday which was actually the only day off they had during this Star Club stint on Good Friday, 20th April, 1962.
