The chestnut-brown field arranged with diagonal rows of rhomboidal 'C' guls containing minor naldag motifs, in an ivory hooked border between geometric stripes, each end with a broad piled serrated leaf skirt and plain chestnut-brown outer stripe, small localised spots of wear, some scattered repair, selvages frayed

This piece is one of a small group of rare Kazak rugs which have a particularly archaic feel.
