Date cyphers for 1884, gilt crowned globe and impressed uppercase marks, shape no. 1722, signed L.(ouis) Solon
Each cylindrical neck decorated in polychrome pâte-sur-pâte with opposing winged fantastic beasts, flanked by strap loop handles and rosette terminals, the shoulder enriched with faux flutes and key-pattern bands, the body finely painted and hand tooled in white slip with a maiden swiftly brushing putti aside or with a maiden being swept off her feet by a host of putti, the reverse with five putti depicted from behind retreating through an open aperture or with five armed putti before a similar circular window, the lower section with stylized flowers and stiff-leaf tips
