A MEISSEN BLUE-GROUND VASE, 'EINE FRAGE' AND 'MUSIKSTUNDE' Circa 1880, blue crossed swords mark
Finely painted after Franz Simm (1853 - 1918) with a young lady ignoring the entreaty of her gentleman caller in a parlor, the reverse with a young lady at the piano, her caller holding a violin and leaning towards her while her chaperone tats lace within gilt foliate cartouches, the upright scroll handles terminating in anthemion and raised on a circular base with further gilt foliage
