Of oval basket form, the staves tips moulded as wheat husks forming the rim, the interior enriched in gilt
13¾ in. (35 cm.) wide

Lot Essay

See note to the following lot, a similar basket marked as belonging to a service made for the château de Maulmont-Randan. Given that the printed and incised marks on the present example are identical, it too is almost certainly from the same royal service.
