Original gilt- and blind-stamped decorative cloth (minor wear to spine ends, slight fading to spine); red quarter morocco slipcase.

FIRST EDITION, second state, with the text captioned "STAVE I," all the uncorrected textual points noted by Smith save that on p.21. The cloth is the first impression, second issue, first state, with 12-13mm. interval between gilt and blind stamping and perfect 'D'. Eckel pp.110-115 ("third issue"); Smith Dickens II, 4.
