London: printed and sold by John Graves, and John Morphew, 1713. 8°, contemporary panelled calf, spine gilt, red speckled edges. FIRST EDITION, one of two variant imprints. Cockburn, the friend of Swift, made his fortune by the discovery of a successful cure for dysentery, then rife in the Navy; his description of, and cure for, gonorrhea was well thought of, and went through several editions and translations.
