FIRST EDITION of this entertaining nonsense. Fletcher, author of several other pieces of quackery, claims that his powder will cure, inter alia, apoplexy, leprosy, scurvy, smallpox, measles, rickets and fistulas and even 'other diseases than those afore-mentioned, either Internal or External, within the Reach of Medicine, of what Nature or Kind soever, may be cured by this Medicine'. He also maintains that it will stay fresh for a thousand years. There is a long list of booksellers, grocers, haberdashers &c. in England, Scotland and Ireland where the powder may be procured and a price-list (one shilling for a quarter packet up to four shillings for a whole packet). The broadside was reprinted in 1679. Wing F1359B (Harvard only); not in Wellcome. (2)
