(Browning and slight soiling to title, about three double-page plates, the list of contributors and about two single-page plates, occasional small marginal tears, the first double-page plate with repaired split to fold), contemporary mottled calf gilt, covers with border of roll tools and fillets with fleur-de-lys tool at each corner, centrally-placed arms of Louis XV [cf. Olivier 2495, fer II], spine in nine compartments with raised bands, red morocco lettering-piece in the second, the other compartments with repeat decoration in gilt of various small tools surrounding the large royal cipher, gilt turn-ins, marbled endpapers, gilt edges (expertly rebacked with old spine laid down, neat repairs to corners).
