Inscribed and signed, with three seals of the artist
Dated summer, twenty sixth year (of the Republic, 1937)
Further inscribed and dedicated to Zhenyong, dated spring, xinsi year (1941)

Note:
Chen Zhenyong (Chan Chun Wing, 1873-1947) took venture to Malaysia at the age of 14, worked hard with integrity and honesty which earned the trust of employers, business partners and bankers. He gradually built up his business kingdom. As a return to the society, he contributed generously to the people's welfare, the unemployed and in the educational field. During the war time in China, Mr Chan had donated most of his estates to buy an airplane for the China War Fund. Inscripsion in the painting by the artist Xu Beihong reflects the worry to the war. As a salutation to Mr Chan's patriotism, Xu Beihong dedicated this painting to him in 1941.
