Lot Essay

James Joyce and Nora Barnacle went out together for the first time on 16 June 1904 - the date that Joyce later chose to be immortalised in Ulysses. Nora eventually married Joyce and is the acknowledged inspiration for Joyce's character of Molly Bloom.
