In the first match played on 23th April 1910 at the Crystal Palace, before 77,747 spectators, Newcastle and Barnsley drew 1-1. In the replay played on 28th April 1910 at Goodison Park, before 69,000 spectators Newcastle defeated Barnsley 2-0 to win their first F.A.Cup final. The above match also saw the first penalty kick in a F.A.Cup final
