Lot Essay

Poindrelle may either refer to the chef-ébéniste who was active from 1804, initially as a help to the garde-meuble, until certainly 1837 when he made restorations to furniture at Fontainebleau. It is, however, more probable that it refers to his son, who is first recorded in 1828 in Paris. He supplied medal cabinets to Fontainebleau and became sous chef-ébéniste under the Second Empire. He was active until after 1860 when he supplied consoles of Louis XVI style to Fontainebleau.
