Lot Essay
Abraham Mulford (1784-1860 or 1869) opened a lumber yard and mill on the Elizabeth River. Abraham Rosett (1780-1815) apprenticed in New York City before opening his own cabinet shop in Elizabethtown in 1803. Rosett and Mulford worked in partnership for only one year between 1807 and 1808; their shop was the first in New Jersey to display products of other cabinetmakers as well as their own. After their brief partnership, Rosett continued alone until 1810, when he sold his stock. This tall case clock is the only known example of their collaborative work.
