A pair of Worcetser fluted oval dishes
painted in the Sèvres style, possibly at the atelier of James Giles, each painted to the centre with a vignette of exotic birds among trees and landscape, within insects, the fluted border gilt with a band of C-srolls below turquoise-ground diaper panels, purple-ground cell-pattern panels, pink herringbone panels and plain panels, some reserved with gilt flowerheads below a shaped gilt dentil rim -- 10 3/8in. (26.3cm.) wide, circa 1770 (minor firing faults and very slight wear)
