A Sèvres-style ewer and stand
painted with portraits of Louis XIV and the beauties of the French court including Mme de Pompadour, Dsse de Bourgogne, Adelaïde de Bourgogne, Ninon de L'Enclos and Mlle de la Vallière within tooled gilt borders reserved on a dark-blue-ground, the panels linked by gilt scrolls enriched with turquoise, white and red 'jewels', all within gilt dentil rims, script marks and titles to the base, the ewer -- 6¾in. (17.2cm.) high, 19th century (firing crack to ewer handle, wear to stand, slight fractures to some jewels)
