Lot Essay

Probably the topsail schooner built for P. Noel of Jersey by Le Huquet at St. Catherine (Jersey) in 1879. Registered at 111 tons gross (100 net), she measured 88½ feet in length with a 20 foot beam and operated in the coastal trade. Her owner P. Noel had previously owned another schooner of the same name however (built at St. Malo in 1861) and of broadly the same dimensions.
