Lot Essay

Le Riche (or Leriche) (b. 1738; d. 1812) was active in the Sevres Manufactory from 1757 where he was in charge of the sculpture workshop. He was famed for his bisque models.
This lot was previously sold anonymously Christie's London, 6 April 1991 lot 81.
