The Fortune Teller

Although bearing a false attribution to Boucher, this painting relates to a tapestry designed by Jean-Baptiste Leprince for the Beauvais tapestry manufactory. It's scale, facture and fragmentary state, and the fact that it seems to have been cut into strips and reassembled, suggest that it may have been used as a cartoon in the tapestry's production.
