Lot Essay

Elsie Marina [Marilyn Monroe] wears this evening costume over a white satin gown to a dinner with the Prince Regent of Carpathia [Laurence Olivier] at the Carpathian Embassy. The Regent's romantic plans are foiled that evening, as Elsie falls asleep as a result of too much vodka and champagne.
