EDWARD VIII (1894-1972), King of England, Duke of Windsor. Autograph letter signed (as Prince of Wales, 'Edward') to Mr Peacock, Magdalen College, Oxford, 3 February 1914, 3 pages, small 8vo.
Written as an undergraduate, agreeing to be patron of the Mission to Seamen, 'This is a really important work & cannot be too greatly encouraged', and referring to his stamp collection: 'I enclose a bill from Stanley Gibbons; it looks large but I got them to transfer the whole of my collection which was all jammed into one obsolete volume'.
