An interesting letter on music. Einstein refers to a visit by Herr Brodsky, who has told him of his research into the presentation of compositions as intended by the composer. This is as surprising as it is convincing and it would be wonderful if as a result Bach's music were given new life, and freed from the errors in the revised editions; 'Es wäre wohl wonderbar, wenn die Bach'sche Musik in solcher Weise neu belebt und von den Irrsinnern späterer Bearbeitung gereinigt werden könnte'.

The conductor Walter Damrosch (1862-1950), was also an educationalist and composer. Erwin Brodsky was the author of Der Vortrag alter Klaviermusik (1932).
