Contemporary limp vellum, with manuscript titles on front cover and on spine (lacks ties, new endpapers). FIRST EDITION. Camillo, best known for his works on the theatre, was an expert in Greek, Latin, Hebrew and several oriental languages, but his passion was the Cabala and ancient Egyptian philosophy. He taught logic for a while at Bologna and spent many years at the court of François Ier where the king gave him a great deal of money to perfect his new system for teaching languages.
