Del dipinto in esame è nota un'altra versione, di analoghe dimensioni, a Roma, collezione privata (cf. A.M. Clark, Pompeo Batoni, Oxford, 1985, p. 281, no. 236, tav. 217), commissionata a Pompeo Batoni da Sigismondo Chigi, principe di Campagnano, in occasione delle sue nozze con Maria Flaminia Odescalchi nel 1767.
