A GEORGE III MAHOGANY OPEN ARMCHAIR
The pierced moulded splat centred by a crest, the rear seatrail affixed with a brass plaque inscribed 'THIS CHIPPENDALE CHAIR WAS PRESENTED TO SAMUEL GEORGE JOSEPH BT IN 1943. WHILST HE WAS LORD MAYOR OF LONDON BY MR ERNEST RAPHAEL IN THE BELIEF THAT IT BELONGED ORIGINALLY TO THE MANSION HOUSE OR GUILDHALL
