In profile to the right in courtly dress, with paper label to the reverse inscribed William and Mary, Purchased at the sale of James Mills Esq, and further label inscribed LADY CROSSLEY, in a turned wood frame
The wax - 3 3/8in. (8.5cm.) high

Specialist note

Mary II (1662-1694), daughter of James II and Anne Hyde, married William III (of Orange), (1650-1702) in 1677. They became joint monarchs in 1689 following a decision by parliment that James II had deserted the kingdom by fleeing to France.
