2o (429 x 318 mm). 12 photographs by ANSEL ADAMS (plates various sizes to 229 x 165 mm). Original quarter tan morocco by Hazel Dreis (some discoloration to morocco, joints rubbed and a bit weak); later tan quarter morocco slipcase.
LIMITED EDITION, number 30 of 108 copies SIGNED BY AUSTIN AND ADAMS. This is the first edition of Adams' and Austin's classic work. The photographs were printed on rag paper specially sensitized with emulsion by William Dassonville. The sheets were then bound directly into the book. Adams himself printed all 1,296 photographs used in the 108 copies of the book.
