A PAIR OF OLD SHEFFIELD PLATED CANDLESTICKS
CIRCA 1790
Each with slightly tapering fluted square stem on square stepped base and with beaded borders and urn-shaped socket, the detachable circular nozzle with beaded laurel border, the base of each candlestick engraved with initials 'AB'
10 7/8 in. (27.5 cm.) high
The initials are presumably for Anne Byng (d.1806), widow of George Byng, M.P. (1735-1789). (2)
