Stamped Charles Winckelsen, the rectangular top above a concave frieze, the bow front with seven graduated drawers and a cupboard, flanked to each side by canted corners, on turned legs, 151 cm. (59 1/2 in.) high, 68 cm. (26 3/4 in.) wide, 40 cm. (15 3/4 in.) deep

Lot Essay

Charles-Guillaume Winckelsen (1812-1871), established workshops at 23 Val-Saint-Catherine in 1854, moved to rue Saint-Louis in 1860 and finally to 49 rue de Turenne in 1867. He produced furniture, chandeliers and bronzes of the highest quality, often in the Louis XVI style. Following Winckelsen's death, his wife sold the business to Henry Dasson
