Lot Essay

This searchlight ring and a number of other artifacts were recovered from the wreck of the Lusitania in 1982 by a diving team and impounded by the British government until 1990. When they were released for sale Mr. Peter Boyd-Smith purchased approximately 480 pieces which he later put up for sale in his shop Cobwebs.
