A MEISSEN KAKIEMON TEAPOT AND A COVER
CIRCA 1730, DREHER'S CROSS AND FOUR DOTS MARK
The body, tapering spout and loop handle each of octagonal section, painted in turquoise, blue, iron-red, purple, yellow and black and enriched in gilding, each side with large flowering branches of prunus, chrysanthemum and other flowers, a pheonix in flight below the spout, the spout and handle with flower-sprays, the circular cover with eight facets and similarly decorated with a pheonix, two insects and flowers around a faceted, pointed bud finial, within a brown line rim (small chip to tip of spout and tip of finial, teapot with hairline crack to centre of one side of body)
