A CHELSEA SCENT-BOTTLE AND STOPPER

Modelled as Apollo pursuing Daphne around a tree-trunk as she transforms into a tree, both in flowing robes, the god with a bow and quiver of arrows at his side, the upper part applied with leaves and berries, the stopper with similar ornament, on a mound base applied with flowers, gilt with a flower to the underside below a green dentil rim, inscribed in iron-red RENDEZ VOUS A L'AMOUR, with a gilt metal-mount and chain, the lower part of the stopper with later glass terminal (over-painting to neck, minor chipping to finial and tip of bow, slight wear)
