Lot Essay

This exceptional form of vase is similar in form to a wig-stand by Adrianus Kocx in the Musée Royaux d'Art et d'Histoire, Brussels, illustrated in 'Faïences Hollandaises, 1640 à 1800' Catalogue (Liège, n.d.), fig. 6. Two vases of related form in the Hague, marked for Adrianus Kocx, are illustrated by Marion S. van Aken-Fehmers and Loet A. Schledorn, 'Delfts aardewerk, Geschiedenis van een nationaal product' Gemeentemuseum, The Hague Catalogue (The Hague, 1999), Vol. I, p. 101, no. 11.
