A DUTCH DELFT BLUE AND WHITE VASE
CIRCA 1700, BLUE 6 MARK
Painted in pale-blue edged in dark-blue, the bulbous body with a waisted lower part, the waisted neck with a garlic-shaped upper part, the body painted with Orientals in a landscape with trees, rockwork and shrubs, with two horses by a post on the right, the centre with a figure by two soldiers holding fluttering banners, the left with three figures, one leading a horse, above a double line border and down-turned foliage at the lower part, the scene edged above with a border of lappets reserved with scrolls and flowerheads, the neck with scrolling foliage below a continuous scene of Orientals in a landscape on the blubous knop, the flared upper part with interlocking scrolls (rims with slight chipping and flaking to glaze)
