A DUTCH DELFT (DE TWEE SCHEEPJES) BLUE AND WHITE BUTTER-TUB, COVER AND STAND AND A (DE KLAUW) SHAPED ELONGATED OCTAGONAL BOWL
CIRCA 1750-70, STAND WITH AP MONOGRAM FOR ANTHONIJ PENNIS, THE BOWL CIRCA 1770, CLAW AND 5 MARK
The tub of flared oblong octagonal form with pierced foliage lug handles, painted with shaped panels of an Oriental figure flanked by two huts and trees on a ground of scrolling foliage, the cover with a naturally coloured apple finial, the shaped stand edged with moulded foliage scrolls (some minute flaking to rims);
The bowl of fluted flared form, the centre with towers and a fortified building on islands before a hill, within a broad band of seeded grasses reserved with four ogival panels of flowers, the flat rim moulded with blue scrolls (some flaking to border and rim, slight cracks to base and rim, pierced for hanging)
