c.1918 FORD MODEL T PROMOTIONAL VAN
Registration No. Not registered
Engine No. 2787230
Orange over brown livery, with beige seats
Engine: four cylinder monobloc, 3¾ x 4 ins. bore & stroke, 2,892cc, side-valve (L-head) water-cooled by thermo-syphon, flywheel magneto to trembler coil ignition; Gearbox: epicyclic two speed & reverse planetary; Suspension: transverse leaf front and rear; Brakes: by hand lever to rear wheels, by foot pedal on transmission. Left hand drive
This Model T was configured as a van for promotional purposes, and from a cursory inspection incorporates a 1918 year engine, an earlier brass radiator and standard 'T' chassis with running gear. It is fitted with a very well-proportioned modern Van body, well-executed in contemporary style and equipped with brass drum headlights and carriage sidelights. This is liveried with 'The Gables Service Station, London Road, Rayleigh'.
In more recent years the van has been exhibited at the Ramsgate Motor Museum.
Condition is generally presentable throughout, but the car has not been run for some time and so we would advise re-commissioning prior to road use.
use.
