Cartouche-shaped, the tortoiseshell cover piqué-posé with central openwork panel after La Fontaine's Fables with fox and swan standing on rock work ground with bull rushes and foliage and border of scrolls, rosettes and quatrefoils within outer band of scrolls, trelliswork and strapwork, with moulded border, the tortoiseshell base inset with flowerhead and scrolling foliage
