François de Beauharnais owned this library jointly with a relative, a doctor of the Sorbonne. According to a contemporary manuscript note cited by Blogie, the library was sold in Paris in the year after the catalogue appeared: "Cette bibliotheque a été vendue en detail, a Paris, en 1684" (Blogie II, col. 1); North 7.
