The principal source for our knowledge of the preparation, perpetration and aftermath of the hoax. Chalon more or less successfully prevented Hoyois from reprinting the Fortsas catalogue, but could do nothing about the publication of Hoyois' background story and the documents in his possession (including correspondence with collectors and commission bids). Added to the lot are Lessing Rosenwald's The Fortsas Catalogue (Bird & Bull Press, 1970), and Walter Klinefelter's The Fortsas Bibliohoax (Ward Schori, 1986). (3)
