FIRST EDITION. The Württembergische Landesbibliothek Stuttgart Bible collection is one of the most important of its kind in the world. Originally based on the collections of Josias Lorck (Copenhagen, 1784) and Georg Wolfgang Panzer (Nuremberg, 1786) and enriched during the secularization, the collection continues to grow with additions such as the Guttenberg Bible from the New York General Theological Seminary, acquired through Bernhard Breslauer at Christie's in 1978. The individual sections of Greek, German, and Latin Bibles are complete. This enormous ongoing project continues when funds are made available. (11)
