The case with gadrooned pediment topped by a knop finial and with further gadrooning above the brass cistern cover, the fluted cylindrical trunk with glazed mercury Fahrenheit and Reaumur thermometer, with brass gimbal and wall mount, concealed tube, with bowed glass panel to bone scales signed H. WEHMANN/VEGESACK, with sliding vernier scale

Vegesack is a maritime town to the north of Bremen, Germany. the inscriptions on the plates of this barometer are in English and it is probable that it was made (at least in part) in England and retailed in Germany.
