The case with pineapple finials to the bell top applied with a foliate mount to the front, lacking gallery fret, handles and foliate cast gilt-metal frets to the sides, trailing floral caryatides to the front angles and on scroll feet, glazed violin-shaped foliate cast door to the silvered engraved dial signed Moore Ipswich in the dial centre with calendar aperture and pierced blued steel hands, foliate spandrels, subsidiary rings in the arch for chime/silent and music selection Cotillon/St. Brides Bells/Minuet/Cotillion/When Sable Night/A Jigg/An Air, the five pillar triple chain fusee movement with later anchor escapement, the music playing every three hours on twelve bells via twelve hammers and a 4½ in long pin barrel, the hours struck on a further bell, the backplate engraved with scrolling foliage
