A Charles II style ebony longcase timepiece
Case with some old elements, movement 20th century
The case with bun feet to the plinth, panelled rectangular trunk door, the rising architectural hood with twist columns, the 9½ in. square brass dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic chapters and pierced blued steel hands, matted centre with calendar aperture, narrow subsidiary seconds ring, the spandrels engraved with flowerheads and vegetables, inscribed Henry Jones in the Temple at the base interrupting the scored line border, latches to the dial feet and to the six ringed pillars of the movement with single train with anchor escapement and bolt-and-shutter maintaining power
