The case with typical foliate cast handle and mount to the cushion moulded top, foliate cast urn finials to the angles, the front door with later gilt-metal escutcheons and fret to the top rail, brass repeat pulleys set into the sides, the 6½ in square dial signed Joseph Knibb London beneath the silvered chapter ring with matted centre and later pierced blued steel hands, winged cherub spandrels, the movement with five vase-form pillars - centre pillar latched, re-built knife edge verge escapement, pull quarter repeat from either side and hour strike on two later pork-pie bells, the backplate profusely engraved with flowerheads and scrolling foliage and signed Joseph Knibb Londini Fecit, the movement with restorations
