An English ebonised two-month duration longcase regulator with 1¼ seconds pendulum
The hood with inset columns and solid sides, convex throat mouldings, the plinth with lenticle glass and raised on giltwood bun feet, thick 10 in. square brass dial signed Dan Le Count Londini, with silvered winged cherub spandrels to minute ring, matted centre with aperture for hours and subsidiary ring calibrated 0-4, shuttered winding hole with lever by 20, single steel hand, the substantial movement with thick scooped brass plates joined by five massive pillars, with central plate for the escapement, joined by four further pillars, anchor escapement, with butterfly nut for 1¼ seconds pendulum; movement last quarter 17th century, case early 18th century, dial later -- 74½ in. (189 cm.) high
